Description
The Tiara Collection rhyming story-poems and sonnets. 28 pages.
The first narrative poem, “Granny Loves to Dance,” has variations on the refrain:
“Oh, Granny likes to shimmy,
and Granny likes to shake,
Granny likes to wiggle
like a little snake.
the music plays she’s in a daze,
in a magic trance.
knows the steps of the latest craze
Granny loves to dance.”
In “A Tyke With a Trike,” a little boy imagines the adventures he’ll have while riding his tricycle.
More advanced readers, as well as children to whom mentors are reading, will learn the structure and rhyme scheme of the three main types of sonnets (and perhaps store this away for later years of education). “How to Eat an Oreo Cookie (a Spenserian sonnet) and “Zookeeper Fun” (Italian/Petrarchan) are offered here.
These poems most likely present the biggest challenge for the child reading alone, and are quite suitable for reading aloud.
100% of the proceeds after costs from the sale of Perri the Poetry Fairy Books are donated to pancreatic cancer research, as a memorial to my sister. Your purchase will help to advance this research, and it is sure to delight the little people in your life.
